Outdated Sandy Springs Location Relocated to Alpharetta – 9 miles Away Fulton County, GA -- The Department of Driver Services (DDS) is replacing an outdated licensing location in Sandy Springs with a brand new hi tech facility only 9 (nine) miles away in Alpharetta. The new center, located at 11575 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta, 30009, will open Tuesday, September 19. The last day of operation in Sandy Springs will be Saturday, September 16. There will be no behind-the-wheel skills tests administered during the initial week of operation, but skills testing will resume Tuesday, September 26.
This relocation is made possible by an agreement between the Fulton County Board of Commissioners and the State of Georgia. DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore said about the new center: “This is a great example of two governments coming together for the betterment of the community. An extra benefit for our customers is that this location also is home to a Fulton County Tag Office. It will be an ultimate convenience for customers to handle both DDS and vehicle registration business during the same visit. This is a deluxe center that our driver examiners and customers will enjoy for many years to come.” About the Center • Hours of Operation: Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.
